On November 26, over 150 patients, staff, and family members at the Odyssey House of Louisiana (OHL) received a traditional Thanksgiving feast planned, prepared, and served by a team of Altus employee volunteers.
In partnership with the Odyssey House for the third year, Altus staff members spent the months leading up to Thanksgiving securing generous donations of turkeys, drinks, decorations and paper goods for the meal, culminating in serving dinner at OHL Wednesday before Thanksgiving.
The Odyssey House Louisiana is a nonprofit behavioral healthcare facility with an emphasis on addiction treatment. OHL offers comprehensive services that enable individuals to chart new lives and return to their communities as contributing members. Altus has joined with the Odyssey House on many occasions to support the meaningful work they do in helping patients overcome addictions.
Assisting with the OHL Thanksgiving Feast is a much-anticipated outreach for Altus. “Being able to help provide a warm and happy Thanksgiving for the residents, families, and staff of Odyssey House gave the volunteers so much more than we can express. We were the ones that were the most thankful that day,” says Altus Outreach Committee Chair, Veeda Ledet.
